Fraud Alert to Advantage Card Holders
The Advantage Network has notified us of a "vishing" event related to Advantage debit cards. Vishing is a scam that combines the techniques of "phishing," which uses email, with "voice," which uses phone methods, to obtain sensitive information from individuals.
Customers of banks within the Advantage network have received phone calls where an automated recording states the call is from a bank and asks customers to input card numbers and PINs. The phone numbers being called are primarily cell phones which are usually not listed on the Advantage cardholder's account.
If you receive such a call, do not release any information. If you have released information, contact our customer service center immediately (605-224-7391 or 1-800-253-0362) to report the incident and discuss the steps required to prevent fraudulent activity on your card.
